your 85 is legal for unlimited and motard. i do not know if it is possible to sleeve down 1 i would assume you could but might require alot of machine work to make fit properly. btw welcome to the TMGP family

I have heard of an 85 with the 72cc top end just cant find anything on buying it. I cant wait to get her on the track. Will be running the endurance next weekend I believe with the guys I went with Monday.

I don't know what parts are available for it but you can alter your displacement by changing any combination of bore size, piston, rod, crank, gasket, and combustion chamber. It might be a more than just a smaller bore guys are using to acquire a smaller displacement. As 337 stated it may require a good amount of machine work, might be cheaper in the long run to buy a bike that qualifies for the classes you want to race. Good luck!

you need more than an 85 to make up for that lack of skill

You sure you want a 65? I could be convinced to part with my xr that's been tricked out. Its not seeing much use nowadays.
