All jokes a side. Everyone has personal limits they should ride well within. I personally donít like the feel of the rear tire pushing coming into a turn, simply because I donít feel it leaves me enough margin for error to prevent possibly winding up like the two unfortunate souls referred to elsewhere in the this thread. Itís a hole in my skill set that it would be reckless for me to try and practice in an uncontrolled environment. I know guys who live for backing it in and theyíve developed the skills to manage it so that to them itís a non event and doesnít intrude on their own margin for error. What is reckless for me is standard operating for them. I donít have the skills or the will to ride BORC style on the street or the track, the risk vs reward just doesnít compel me to push THAT hard, even if it means everyone has to wait 30minutes for me to catch up. Iím fine with that because its my skin and my ride that are most at risk. My point is I donít call someone reckless if they are riding within their limits or the limits of the conditions with consideration for the others who share the road even if its way harder or faster than what I could or would. Reckless is when someone rides at or beyond their limits with no consideration for others or the unexpected.(granted the state does not agree with me on this but we all know they are wrong)

I don't advocate anyone going out and breaking the law, but its unrealistic to take the attitude people who own machines capable of the ton in second or even first gear in some cases are all reckless because they wind them out from time on back roads with minimal traffic. Do things happen yes they do. Including a lady backing an SUV up the backside of a crest in a 60mph zone only to have 20 bikers split either side of her as they crested the hill. Or the ever popular cyclist with engine envy who decides to ride in the middle of the road coming out of blind 40mph bend. In both cases which happened on the same ride it wouldnít have mattered if we were doing the posted or double, if you were riding at your personal limit with no margins for error you hit both of them.

if you're going to take the risk to ride these wonderful toys and go for the spirited rides that's everyoneís personal decision, just be aware that your behavior has an impact on the whole community.

It's almost always a single vehicle accident so they don't scare me. If it's an organized ride (riders meeting, rules, designated sweeper) at least you have someone there to help you or call for help

This one. Happened last year.

It's a common occurrence on pp1 rides. They flip over guard rails on overpasses and no one notices. I can recall of at least 2 of those in the past few years. Plus the other fatal wrecks.
What other one are you talking about?

Yeah, he was headed North and went off the road in that first left hand turn past the bridge. He was found that same day by a motorist I believe. I stopped at the crash site the next weekend.
