Ninja 300 - Fairing Issues

Ok so since I bought my little 300 the right side fairing was pushed out about 1/2" to an 1" depending on whether I just rode in a hard wind or not. Did some research found all kind of people were having this problem, but Kawasaki was not issuing a Recall or TSB.

Found some Aussies who have some spirit in them let me tell ya. One of ended up with a new bike as he really pushed the issue hard with Kawi to get it fixed. So i took my bike back to my dealer (K's in Humble). While I had my issues with them, Shane the Svc Manager has really went out of his way to fix the problems. Good guy. He had not seen anything on it so he sent a msg to Kawi and they said they have a fix and would send a kit. Well 4 months later finally got confirmation of the kit and took it over to get it put on. While I was there I showed Shane a piece that had broken off the same fairing (I did a thread on that when it happened). He looked at it and said lets put the kit on I will take some pictures and send Kawi.

So long story short ... have issues with your fairings left or right pushing away from the headlight fairing .. take it the dealer. Their is a fix and they will order you a kit. Did not take long to put on. I have only ridden home since the fix but I will update later.

Anyone with a Ninja 300 has any questions on this PM me and I will be glad to point ya in the right direction.

Glad you got it fixed. 2014 Ninjettes do not have this problem IIRC.

well I saw one on the showroom floor when the 14 models came out. The part number on the fairings changed so they did something. But the fix is putting a bolt and nut in place of the "push rivot" that was originally there.

Hmm I just sold the 300 a few minutes ago, Fairings always seemed to spread about an 1/8" of play. Wish I had know but I'll tell the new owner.

I have a 2013 Ninja 300 SE and that issue irks me to death.. I am glad that they finally have a kit for it. I may hit you up, because I bought my bike at Mancuso north and everytime I bring it back in and say hey the faring has a gap they just shrug and say no issue. That is why i started going to M/U. So again thanks for the update.
