NEED HELP WITH BIKE STARTING!

Hi all, I have an 06 yzf600r and im having an issue with my bike starting, sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt start, I don't think its the battery because its only about 2 years old and Iv tried recharging it and my charger said its full, when i try to start the bike sometimes I hear the clicking noise and it doesnt start, and sometimes I don't hear it and it doesnt start, after trying several times I can finally get it to start. would this be the starter? anything else I should look at? anything is appreciated, thanks!

2 years is pretty good stretch on a battery especially in this heat.

I would pull the battery and take it down and have it tested. It may be showing a charge but there could be a dead cell in it.

If the battery is good, then check your connections, from the battery to the fuse box, battery to the started, and any ground cables.

It could be a simple as a loose battery connection by what you ahve listed in the original post.

+1 to this recheck and clean all your connections and have the battery tested

Ok I did what yall said and checked the connections (just for the battery) and i got the battery tested, everything is good as far as the battery is concerned, I guess I'll start checking for loose connections then?

everything points to the battery. where did you have it tested and was it load tested or static?

Try putting a 12v supply straight to the starter? If that works it should be something in between the battery and starter.

thats actually a really good idea ArkansasDave thank you, I am going to do that tomorrow, I was just hoping this would be an easy fix that I could do without taking apart the bike.

I just read all that, sounds pretty similar to what my problem is, Im going to load test it myself with a DMM while trying to start it, some say if it reads 10v or lower its bad, some say 11v or lower its bad?

Do you have a DMM or an old VOM? Test it while it's on YOUR bike.
