Actually TexLurch, I'm only 5'2. But thanks for the extra inches. The ninja 250 was a great learning bike but really like the Hyosung for sporty looking.

Hi I am 4'11 and I ride a Honda CBR 600RR (first bike) I had the bike lowered 3 links and i tip toe but the Honda's weight to me is very light compared to the other motorcyle brands that I tried out.

She sat on a lowered F4i and was able to touch with her toes.

I am 5'5. I started out on a 1991 CBR F2, then went to a 2003 Kawi ZX7R. Now I ride a 2004 CBR 600RR and 2004 GSXR 600. I have never shaved a seat or had them lowered! I am on my very tiptoes, but so far I haven't had any problems from being vertically challenged!

Well I don't have a bike yet, but the one I ride is an 02 r1.
I am 5'6 and on my toes but that isn't a problem with me.

I raced YSR50's BEFORE getting a street bike and when I started riding on the street I rode my Hubbies 96 GSXR750 I tipped it over twice because it was sooo heavy that once it started to lean I just couldn't hold it. When I got my SV it was soooo light by comparison I couldn't believe! The Dealership where I work sells the UM (Hyosung rebadged) Line and the Vtwin 250 UM Sportbike looks ten times nicer than the 250 Ninja and rides as well or better! She should check it out! As for reaching/balance that comes with time now I ride all kind of bikes at work (except BIG tourbikes) with no sweat!

How tall are you? 5'4"

What type of bike? Honda VFR800

Lowered? Nope.

Seat shaved? Nope.

Suggestions? Have her take the MSF for sure. Let her start on the smallest bike to gain confidence. I started on a 250 that I was able to flatfloot completely. Now I am barely with the off my feet on the ground but I can lean enough to get one foot flat on the ground at a light. I think starting her on a 250 should be fine for now.

Even if she has to tip toe she will get used it. I always focus on foot to completely balance the bike when i come to a complete stop and yes that does leave my other leg a few inches of the street. But I wanted to ride so I learned to manage it and so will she ......

I want to try and get my wife a bike but she seems reluctant since she is only 5' and has short legs. I want her to take the MSF course to get her familiar with motorcycles then pick her up a little 250 to scoot around on for a couple of years then take it from there.

Suggestions?

5'3

03 gsxr 600

no

im on my tippy tippy toes...

I would actually like to lower my bike just a wee bit. I hate having to lean on my gimp foot for any length of time :eh: The Ninja was perfect, I could flat foot that thing all day!

I lowered the 636 for my girl so she would be more comfortable on it while she is getting used to the bike. Right now, its nice that she can touch flat foot so she is more stable but as soon as she gets some hours on it, its coming back up to stock.
