Do you wave at Moto cops?

Just curious, reason being that I was riding today, waved at a bike cop but he didn't wave back.

Last time I saw one, he was cruising at 120mph+ on hwy 59. I waved just before he caught up to me and he waved back.

My other experiences with Harris County motorcycle cops haven't been as pleasant.

I wave at just about everyone on two wheels with a motor.

I have, but they usually don't wave back. I've had quite a few random stops to check my M endorsement and to ask what exactly an EBR is. Still happens but way less that a few months ago.

Normally I wave back if I see the other bike in time. Sometimes I dont if I'm focused on something else like talking to dispatch or looking for my call.

I've heard, have no idea if it's true, that bike cops view taking your hand off the bar as being reckless.
Of course, each one is going to have his/her own views but that's what I heard.

I'm sure Andre3K will come in and laugh at me for saying that but I don't know what other reason there would be besides the... didn't see the wave, looking for call, talking to dispatch, thing.

I am, and I almost always wave back. If I don't, it's because I don't see in time, or something, but I try to be polite.

One guy this morning waved, then realized I was popo and jerked his hand back so fast it looked like he burned himself.

I get waves TO me about half as often as I do when I'm on my personal ride. So before butthurt, I can attest it works both ways.

I still enjoy it however at this point it's a job. Being a motor officer in Houston means working outside in Houston year round. I spend 6 days a week on a bike so I get my fill at work. I don't ride recreationally anymore although I do miss riding track days.
