Yeah, power tripping cops are a$$ holes. Crooked towing companies are just as bad. You should tell them to pay your damage, seeing as they are charging you for something you couldn't control they should pay for something they can't control! Stolen vehicles (IMO) should be returned without impound charges seeing as you didn't get it impounded in the first place... Like taxation without representation, when are we going to have another Boston Tea Party... I think we would have to pour out coffee and smash donuts instead of ruining tea though!

Hope it works out for you though!

(Goes under "I hate to say it")

I got $10 that says it was a Hurricane Katrina "victim" that stole your bike... I hate to say it but give some people an inch and they will take a mile. I haven't been living in Houston for very long and I started off in a bad place when I got here with nearly nothing but my bikes and Jeep. I found a job and got my back on my own two feet without asking the gov't for unemployment or any aid. I hear the crime in this town is directly linked to them from several people I have met since I moved here. Granted I did not come from Louisiana, but I did come with with the shirt on my back and little more.

Helena,
I'm very happy to hear you got your bike back.
You'll typically need proof of ownership and proof of insurance to be able to get it released from the bloodsuckers at the storage lot.
Let me know if I can help in any way.

FWIW, I'm still down to host a car wash if you all want to make it happen.

I say we set up our own sting. I wanna leave my bike outside in front of my house but far enough off the street that its on my property. When they come try to steal it, ill shoot them! My property! Its legal! If everyone did this, we could put a dent in the number of bike theives population and clear up some wasted space in our society!

Win win situation!

If you really intend to do something, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT post anything about it on a public forum.

Picked up her bike from the inpound. Luckily, her bike is still intact. Seems like they dropped on the right side benting the front and rear brake levers. Some scratches on the muffler. They hot wired her bike and messed up the ignition switch. They even try to scrap off Roger's R.I.P sticker on her windshield. Other than that, is takes alittle effort to steer the bike to the right side. She should be able to get it going in no time. I strongly recommend a kill switch of some sort to prevent any amature theft incase it get hotwired.
