How about this. 40 mph corner. How fast will you be entering and exiting?

Ultimately you should be smart enough to ride well within your comfort zone...if you have the " I need to keep up with everyone" mentality, please stay away from this ride.

Great Question! And the definitive answer is...

it depends.

Some 40mph turns can be entered at double that speed plus 10 or 15 mph and still not be close to dragging a knee or pushing the safety margins for the street. Still others may require you to do 35mph to maintain a comfortable margin on the street. I can think of a string of turns on 337 where this is the case. They all have the same posted but there are two where they really mean keep to what's posted. Same on 3090, there is one 15mph turn where what they really need is a stop sign due to the sharpness of the turn and the gravel and dirt that is almost always there in the middle of it.

Having ridden with these guys before, I'd say they are really good at keeping the pace at a level where new people can learn the roads without pushing too hard, but quick enough to really enjoy the ride safely.

Nobody is saying anyone has anything. You are advertising a "noob" ride with "brisk" speeds. All I'm asking is how fast is "brisk"? If you've done "plenty" of these rides, you should know exactly what your corner speeds are. I hosted plenty of rides and brisk and noob don't mix. I'm not trying to bust your but you seem to want to go that way. I hosted a "brisk" ride two weeks ago that was 10 over in the straights and double entry and accelerate hard out of the corners.

If you're not going to come to the ride move on to another thread you seem to be the only one "concerned" with brisk and noob being in the same thread...your neediness is starting to stink of desperation.

He has to show up to the ride to ask questions that noobs need answered? C'mon, man. There is no such thing as a brisk noob ride. At least six months of seat time or one trackday isn't noob. Anything above 10-over isn't noob. If slower riders have to trail behind, it's not noob.

I really don't care how many of these rides you've hosted. Keep advertising them like this and you will have someone go down. "Ride your own ride" only goes so far. Noobs can't process things fast enough to realize when they're going in too hot. They usually just follow the bike in front of them, which is why pace on a noob ride is so important. Leading an advertised noob ride carries much more responsibility than leading rides at faster speeds.
