Which seems like an odd pace for a noob ride. But I'm a noob, so what do I know?

Additionally, what can I do to get practice for my eventual first ride other than just drive normally daily?
Knee pads or pants with armor
The more seat time the better

Here is a good analogy:

Walk - slow
Jog - brisk
Run- moderate
Sprint - borc

I have lead plenty of rides and keep things safe for the different levels of experience that people have. I'm not going to continue this match to satisfy your need for trolling. I have posted the ride. Either you like it or you don't. Either you show up or you don't. You are welcome to troll on but I won't lose a wink of sleep over it. Internet bullying/ trolling just shows your inner child crying out for attention and it comes off as needy. Nobody likes needy. So to you I say have an awesome day and hope you join us for a great BRISK ride.

You should probably wait a few months to go ride on some backroads when youre comfortable with your bike then go to a noob ride. youve been riding for only a couple weeks it sounds like you need to ride your bike a bit more

Yeah, that's generally what I was thinking. Is there like a database of routes anywhere? I live in the Clear Lake area so I seriously doubt there's much around here to get good practice on.

It's good that you cleared that up because most folks probably think a brisk pace is faster than a moderate pace.

hmm I would have thought it was more like

Noob- No faster than posted speed limits any where
Moderate Posted limits on straights, instructionally fast in corners
Brisk- Slightly faster than posted in straights, up to double posted in corners where possible
Spirited- up to double posted anywhere when possible.
BORC - hey its your funeral

and always wear knee protection when on a bike, even in a slow get off or drop its likely the first thing to touch down hard.

but I consider myself a noob, so what do I know.

that said count me in, I'll ride the 300 since pace will be slower than the normal "Moderate" rides.

This is the perception that many of people have. If you're on a harley, shorts, shirts, novelty hats work. If you are on a sport bike, they don't. You will also get made fun of if you don't get on the wagon and do as the others do. It's almost like a cult, but without ever actually calling it a cult.

I'll ride with you though buddy, no knee protection required!

Somebody please define Brisk. Double in the corners and 20 over in the straights? And how is this trolling? Asking about spacifics is trolling? I'd ask the same question if you would have called it a brisk ride from the beginning.

My question about knee protection was really seated in my fuzziness regarding pace. I didn't know if we were talking "body armor" knee pads or if "brisk" pace was quite fast and as such required knee pucks because there would be knee-dragging going on in the turns. That has since been clarified. Obviously riding without proper gear is dumb regardless of the type of ride or type of bike being ridden.

Come to the ride and I'll define it for you. How's that? Can't get more specific than that...
