Back in the Wind..

Hello fellow riders,

Just wanted to say hello, and that I'm so glad to be back in the wind. Been off from riding for a long time, and I am so glad to be back in the game. I'm rejuvenating a classic 79 GL1000 Goldwing. Bought it for $300.00 .. boiled the tank out myself, cleaned the carbs, and she rides great. Just putting around, waiting on new tires and tubes to show up next week. I can't wait to get out in the country with it. Looking forward to chatting and swapping stories and knowledge.

very nice old sled. I had a '76 many, many years ago. I have a service manual if you should happen to need any info.

I'm in Santa fe. Let me know if you want to take a quick ride on a short notice. I'd like to see the bike in person.

Welcome.

I've got the service manual, but it's for up to a 77.. but their all about the same 77-79 . and in fact I have the original owners manual and a dealer brochure for accessories.. All original. Still waiting on getting my endorsement though. you know.. the whole taking the MRH rider's course class. Gotta wait two weeks for that.
I don't take her far cause the tires are 34 years old. yes. I did say 34.. The back one looks real good, but the front is weather cracked real bad. My tires are arriving today, maybe get them on this weekend. Once I get those on, I'd be happy to meet up with ya.

Welcome buddy
Me and my dad both had gl 1000's as well. Had a lot of great memories riding together. I also took a break from riding and just started up this week with my new toy
