Hey Clyde,

Sorry to hear/read about your get off. Take what you can from it and move on. You'll only get better. I'm always smiling when i hear someone "slide" on the track - compared to the usual "wreck" or "crash" on the street. More props to you for getting in on this track scene.

So what's the idea? Is the R1 for the track or the Duc? I would go with the R1 - i was looking at your pictures, and talking to Dr. Gonzo, the R1 seems to fit your body language alot more then the Duc.

Get well soon and see you @ the track!

Both bikes are dual purpose............so they will both see the track.

Yesterday was just a combination of mistakes on my part, it started with ego coming out of turn 2 and just got worse from there.
I'll take a step back, add this to the list of other lessons I've learned, and be back out there on the 26th!!!!

FWIW to others that may wonder what happened,
1) First session of the day
2) New tires (about 10 miles) and NOT scrubbed in
3) About 15 min. into the session
4) got passed coming out of turn 2 and decided to pick up my pace
5) Came in to 3-4-5 (diamonds edge) too fast
6) Off line, didn't go deep enough in #4
7) rolling on the throttle, body postion was TERRIBLE, OFF LINE, cold tires and a green track= tucked the front in #5.

Cost........about $1,000.00 and a damaged ego.:BangHead:
And proper gear=walked away without a scratch.

after every get off, it takes some time to rebuild the confidence. took me 2 or 3 trackdays to get my confidence back up. hopefully you will recover your confidence quicker than me.

learning from our mistakes makes us quicker. knowing what you did wrong is a big key in learning. now that you know what you've done wrong....you can correct it.

BIG PROPS for gettin back on the track for the rest of the day and still keeping a good pace.

Turn 1 definitely has teeth and can bite!

Clyde - been there done that (different day / different corner) life will go on - add a little $$ - stir - ease back in to it - all will be well. I was pitted next to you - you were so cool I didn't even realize what had happened.

I love turn 1 and 17 those are my favorite turns. I am still having problems in the bus stop. I don't think I will ever get that down! But, I can see where one can bite you in the behind!
