yes.

your carbs suck air from outside into the cylinder. inside the carb are little tiny metal tubes. those tubes are called jets. jets come in different sizes. the purpose of the main jet is to add fuel to the air. ideally, you want something like a 14 to 1 ratio of air to fuel. got it? so if you add a bigger jet, you get more fuel, the tiny tubes are a little bigger.

adding a jet kit alone may not do much. most likely itll just be too much fuel. the purpose of a jet kit isnt to add more fuel so much as its purpose is to add the CORRECT amount of fuel.

here is where a jet kit will really be useful: add a high flow air filter to your bike, like a k&n or a BMC. and an exhaust that can push more air out, at least a slip on, preferably a full system. now you have alot more air going through the cylinder, you would need a bigger jet to add the correct amount of fuel, got it?

more air in + more air out = you have "room" to add more fuel.

more fuel and air, at the right ratio (14:1ish) means more power.

any questions? there WILL be a quiz later...

I've gotten good results on the
ZZR's by rejetting the carbs, shimming the needles, changing the float height and a few other tricks.
Saves the cost of a "jet kit".
