When we got to Fairbanks we pulled into the BMW dealership.
A guy was taking all of his plastics off. I showed Chad
where the only thing I could see was oil on his back tire.
About 95% of the bikes going to Alaska are the BMW GS like this
one and the same bikes Chad and I were riding. They have a good
reputation and are bullet proof.

DSC03647 zps621327b6

Well I asked the guy what was up and he pointed to his transmission.
Giant crack in it. He said he was with some guys and was from
North Carolina. Later the next day we ran into a guy
from North Carolina and he was with this same guy and said he
thought that because this guy had been running 85 mph and getting the
bike completely airborne on the whoop de doos caused by the
perma frost. He said he had ridden them three times and he was sure
this is what cracked his buddies transmission.

WE STAYED TWO NIGHTS IN DENALI PARK.
CHAD'S BUDDY BRANDO PAID FOR A CABIN FOR US AND
WOULD NOT LET US PAY HIM BACK. HE WORKS THERE
AS THE HEAD BARTENDER IN A FANTASTIC RESTAURANT.
REAL NICE GUY.

THIS BEAUTIFUL GAL WAS AMAZING.
WATCHING HER MIX DRINKS AND SHE ALWAYS HELD THE
GLASS UP TO THE LIGHT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SPARKLING
CLEAN. IF NOT SHE WOULD CLEAN IT AND EXAMINE IT AGAIN.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT HERE.

WATCH OUT FOR THE PO PO.
OUTSIDE OF TEXAS WE PROBABLY SAW 5 COPS.
ONCE IN TEXAS WE PROBABLY SAW 15 IN THE FIRST
TWO HOURS. 10,000 MILES EACH AND DID NOT GET
PULLED OVER ONCE. 80 TO 90 EVEN THRU
CANADA'S 65 MPH CRAZINESS AND WE SURE
LUCKED OUT.
