ALASKA OR BUST

Chad and I made it to Alaska and
then up to the Arctic circle.

So as not to bore you I will post the best pic
first. And later the babe shots.

We started with Ken Guitarman. But our pace was a little
bit too fast for his liking so we split on day three and
Chad and I hauled on. I only had 3 weeks vacation
to do this trip in, not enough time for sure.

Day one we made it to Amarillo and to one of
Chad's friends house. Thanks Joe and Misty.
Joe makes some fantastic hamburgers on his grill.
He is hot rodding his hearse

Later we made it to Pikes Peak. This is the entrance.
Somehow we timed it perfect. As after I think 6pm they do not
allow anyone else to drive up. We were at the top
and could run down without any traffic coming up at us.
Speed limit is 25 mph. Going down we hit 95 mph in some sections.
Dragging knee on Pikes Peak, it doesn't get any better than that.

Way out in the sticks of Montana I was behind a group
of cars doing 80 mph and something appeared in the road under the car
in front of me. I swerved but still hit it and it sounded and felt
like someone hit my bike with a sledge hammer.
Engine died and to make a long story short Chad trouble
shot it and figured out I creamed my kick stand switch.
He splice wired to bypass it and off we went.

It took 7 days to reach Alaska. We humped it. 12 to 15 hours riding each day.
One time we got to a camp site in Canada at 2 am and another day we got to a camp site at 4:15 am. When we unloaded, put up the tent etc I asked Chad why the birds were chirping. He said it was 5:15 am. I had to put in ear plugs to sleep. Then I woke up at 8:30 am and it was raining. I rolled over to go back to sleep and work up at 11 am to pack up in the rain. Real fun. We did it all in 3 weeks which is way too short to see any sights.

It was 50s to 60s in the day and a few places it was freezing at night.
June to July are the best months to go.
