I would rent:
KTM 1290 Superduke R
BMW s1000r
Triumph Speed Triple
MV Augusta Brutale

Basically any beast of a bike that I would love to ride but not necessarily want to own due to cost of entry, insurance, etc.

I can't imagine what kind of premiums you would need to carry insurance on bikes like that though. You never know what kind of idiot is coming in to wrap one around a tree.

Liek stache said above. I think a mix of bikes that are sensible and bikes that most people practically wouldnt own, like an MW or BMW.

Also, ive noticed some companies offer rental cars if you get in an accident, I always wanted a long term rental bike...

How much is the insurance in case you break it?

I agree with the motard vote. Would be the cheapest bike in your fleet.

Tag a WR450 or a crf450x

Insurance is $7.50 per day. There is a ton of info, but for a high level overview check out our faq page http://steelhorserentals.com/faq.html.

sport touring

I would like to rent a sport touring bike like a FJR or the BWM version. Having the ability to ride before buying would be fantastic.

Very nice, it's about time someone made this happen here in Houston and I hope it goes well. Please add a few sportbikes if possible.

+1 on the sport tour. I'd like to rent one and take a weekend trip to Austin with the wife.
