my lithium battery made it through a wreck and was used in a different bike

Sadly, my R6 was wrecked by a friend CMRA licensing this past weekend, during the mock race! Grr! Anyway, not the point...

I have heard concerns about lithium batteries and whether they have the ability to survive crashes, that they might start on fire. That was not a concern after all with this one...and it was a pretty decent tumble (likely at 70mph for first impact, then it hit nose-tail repeatedly).

Not only did it not start on fire, but we used it for our endurance bike the next day and it started no problem. This was when it was Shorai, but now they switched to using the name Phantom. We will buy another one when the time comes. Rodrigo has one too in his bike and even though his bike was left in the "on" position overnight and it was drained, we were able to recharge it and not have any issues.

So, check out Batteries Plus in the Houston area. Our own member "JRedford" (John Redford) is a franchise owner in it and that is through whom I've gotten each of our batteries.

I never heard of. I'm all about supporting the locals... What's the price difference?

100 bucks. 2yr free replacement. It's local but not a supporting member. Others have had good luck with too.

Not lithium,agm though.

100 bucks difference with 2 years free replacement is not bad. Is it just as light as the cell? I'm only asking because we race and every single pound counts to go faster... that's the reason #1 we went to cell batteries for our bikes.

I think a Shorai or Phantom it's about the same price. They also have 2 years warranty and they weight only 2.5lbs

OK. I looked into the last one and I paid $140.
I love them, I never had a problem with any of them even when they set for a long time and they are 9lbs lighter compared to the conventional ones.
In any case send John Redford a PM and see what he can do for you
