it sucks it happened to me, but it is nice to see they went to the extent of making sure my story was good, it could had been a stolen bike.
I have not left any other rides I posted without showing up. To all the new guys if I post a ride I can't make I have always posted it ahead of time that I could not make it and named some one taking over and it has worked out, peeps still got their ride "i organized"

Most of the time it's work getting in the way, I would not lose an opportunity to take my bike out to the backroads for anything, those that know me can testify, still happens and what's first is first.

That's almost as bad as having two flat tires.

One time a guy told me he was almost two hours late without calling because he had to take ...that's about on par.

a close second was a young airman I was supervising said " I cant come into work, my heater broke at my house and I have to keep the fireplace going for my pregnant wife".

mind you we were stationed at Hurlburt Field in Destin Florida!!!! It was winter time though....

bro, It's not rocket science...just join someone else's rides. this way when you decide to no show, it's no big deal

You don't even have to spend two days coming up with some elaborate bullshit story.
