Adventure riders... Check in

Folks,
I'd like to get an idea of how many adventure bike riders we have on MH. Further, their appetite for riding on the dirt. I'm thinking of street/dirt rides to Yankees (Carlos) and Orsaks ( Fayetteville).

I've done a lot of exploring already and found some mildly entertaining dirt that would take us off the beaten path.

Let me know what you have and the level of interest in dirt/street rides. I ride a GS and she's been plenty dirty.

As long as not a big group ride I would be in. I have a V-Strom, not exactly an Adventure bike but it handles unpaved roads just fine. I have had it dirtier than many people do their dirt bikes.

I am in!

GRSA and I just a few weeks ago too county roads almost the entire way to Round Rock just to get some donuts. No route planned just exploring the back roads the whole way. We had a blast and I want to do more of that.

Our next plan was to explore all the dirt roads heading towards Orsaks. I see a ton of them but have not really explored them.

Looks like she has made that walk a few too many times. It only counts as exercise if you walk by the front door without going inside. hehe

I am thinking of getting a caponord 1200 but that is a road queen. Would like to get the ktm 1190a but they are having a few issues that aren't being covered by warranty.

My DRZ does alright off road as long as it's not muddy (street tires).

You don't need an ADV bike to hit up dirt roads. Sure the 950 ktm in the pic could go a little quicker pace but if you're not afraid to slide the rear just about any bike can get out on the dirt lol

G'day everyone. The wife and I would be in for some trails. Looking for good trails around Houston anyway.

Have the interest, just not an "appropriate" bike yet. Hasn't really stopped me from getting out on dirt, just makes it much harder to get the bike out.

Very Cool... Someday soon I'll hop on my Strom & make that run.

For now the wife/kids win & I'll just keep thinking about it.

I am up for it. There is a route called the Cheese Burger run that stops at Yankees for lunch. 90% dirt roads. You can get the GPS track off of a thread on TWTEX.com.

I ride a DRZ400SM - photo below is on a mountain in Colorado.
Chad and I just got back from Alaska 10,000 miles round trip on the GS but for dirt I prefer the DRZ.

Here is the CheeseBurgerRun.gpx file. May need to have an account on TWT. PM me and I can email it to you.
