I think you are missing the point of this thread, it is a project bike. Not a race bike and not a track bike. Nowhere have I said I think it is fast or will beat anything. I don't care about that. Not sure why you keep posting in the tread if you have nothing pertinent to say.
Because you are getting more attention then him... the BORC has been pretty dead lately so

Some say I'm a little old and out dated to. So me an the RC fit together well. Glad you like the RC. I've ridden a lot of bikes but this one has stuck with me, for some reason for a Honda they just have soul. I had to buy an upper got broken in transport before i got it, bought oem from partzilla best price I found.

I have been entertaining the idea of taking the bike down to bare frame this winter now that I know the bike rides fine. Powdercoat the frame and swinger. I'd like to build up a second engine as well. Been a while since I dug into a bike engine, last was my Aprilia's and before that I did a high comp build on my YFZ quad. RC engines seem to go for around $800 on ebay. It's a long shot, but if anyone knows of a friend or anyone locally selling an RC engine let me know.

I really dont see the hurt here. Its a fine bike...I just dont see a point in running something that will be spanked by a modern sportbike on the track.

The track is about speed and winning...not a sunday cruise up to Yankees.

i can show you how its done on a 250

I've ridden a few different bikes over the years and some of my fondest memories on the track were aboard my RC. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Congrats on the new bike! Hope you enjoy it.

I'm still new to the world of two wheels, but the track for me is much different. It's a sublime place where I can somehow merge machine, driver, and pavement into one singular entity. It's the place where I can let my conscious thoughts go and my brain becomes the closest thing I will ever feel to primal. It has absolutely nothing to do with speed or winning. I have far more fun on the track when I'm the only one on it. It's a place where I can let the car and myself simultaneously unwind. I can imagine there are some folks that feel similar in regards to their motorcycle track outings.

Not a whole lot has happened with the RC other than me riding it. I almost bought an engine for $200 (awesome) plus shipping from a Facebook RC group, but turns out the guy decided to sell local, sadness.

Other than that, I have since bought a 2008 Ninja 250 for the track and a 2010 S1000 so I've been busy with them too. Not a whole lotta riding and working on stuff with the cold weather and insanity working the holiday season though.

Reading this thread has me thinking you need a serious garage. Lots more room than that!
