Honda takes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, twice. BMW? Not so much

It's ok to ignore the fact that Honda's best rider was not 100% this year

Seriously though, there's just a lot of old misinformation and misconceptions floating around about the EBR. As one of the higher mileage owners I'm in a decent position to set the record straight were and when I can. The RX isn't perfect, but its more than good enough to hold its own against its peers and out perform more than some.

I would like to see how much the ebr guys still like the bike a year or two down the road. If they are anything like the "old buells" better cross your fingers and hope they last that long..

You must mean the old sportser powered S sereis bikes because there are plenty of 2003-2008 XB's still rolling. I'll admit they didn't like power ehancements unless you went full kit. The 1125r/cr with the exception of the stator issue has been rock solid. People usually trade them for more power not for lack of reliability at least tha's what the Buell forums suggest. So far NO recalls unlike the Panigale which is up in the high 40's on recalls.

Only time will tell, but so far I had no issues, despite a crash and beating on it hard on the backroads and flogging it at the track.

I mean the thunderbolt, blast, and lightning. All well known for not holding up well and that's a huge understatement.. Hopefully your bike will be different and wont dissapoint but like you said only time will tell.

The old buells were also Harley's, so hopefully now that they are pure ebr's they will be better.

The Blast wasn't reliable? I thought it was just slow and ugly.

The old sporster based engines failed for harley riders in the same way they failed for Buell. You take an engine that was't designed for sport riding, and rev it to death like a sport rider has to and you will kill it. People who adjust their riding style to suit the bike acutally do quite well and they are very easy to work on.

The 2009 1125r suffered from stator issues, but the 09-10 from what I hear are bullet proof, but lack competitve power.

Two year warranty on every EBR so at least now they stand behind their products. But again time will tell.

Instead of getting new tires for that 500, get some street tires for the Ape, and yes, I'd like for you to tow me around 3090
