I dunno. for some reason I have the picture in my mind as someone with their feet down trying to stop while they have the death grip on the bars, holding the throttle wide open without realizing it.

Really Sad, it so important to get into this sport in the proper way. Not saying you can't get hurt or even killed, but managing risk is the name of the game. Prayers extended to the families of all involved.

yep, that is how I see it too... from the video on the news this morning, it looked like he took a right out of the parking lot, tried to stop for the stop sign, grabbed a handful of throttle and shot across the feeder.

well if in your firstriding experience you decide to ride on the feeder or freeway.. you kinda get whats coming to you. the first time my hit the seat i was terrified lol. and before you say it never said it was his first time. in order to grab throttle and shoot out instead of stoping he had to have not pulled on the clutch. i only made this mistake once and it was the first time i rode.

bingo. and a very common mistake that's made. There's so much going on with a motorcycle that people think "gas go" "brake stop" and they forget that if they to both at the same time, gas always wins.

However it happened, he died in a pretty horrific way...prayers for the family...and to the guy that would let an inexperienced rider take his bike...you have to live the rest of your life knowing you killed your friend...that sucks....RIP

That is exactly why I don't go out and drink on my bike or let anyone ride it unless I know they are experienced and not under the influence. A bike is just to dangerous to take chances like that.
