No more inspection stickers!

http://kxan.com/2014/06/24/texas-to-...ction-sticker/

I just learned of the news this morning and didn't see another thread about it. Apparently, come March Texas residents will no longer be required to display an inspection sticker. I guess that means for us riders with fender eliminators, no more decisions will need to be made with where to put the sticker.

This is really going to mess with the that pay for stickers and don't have insurance. Just for the record I'm totally alright with that.

Confirmation of your vehicle inspection is supposed to be sent electronically to TxDMV so you can still register by mail

Dirty riding? LOLZ
It's an inspection sticker (turn signal, headlight, tailight, license plate light, and horn)
Expired/No inspection is hardly dirty. Especially considering tickets are dismissed if obtained prior to appearance date.

I always put my inspection stickers under my seat anyways. Never had any problems with doing it that way. So this is still better I guess.

I always let my inspection lapse for 3 months. Then every 4 years is free!
Now I'm gonna have to go straight, can't be a scoff law any more :/

I wonder how that effects online registrations.....as well as those who have already registered their vehicles for multiple years....

It doesn't affect registration online or by mail. When your vehicle is inspected, confirmation is sent electronically to TxDMV

Sucks for those of us that have "racecars" that we "buy" stickers for because of emissions...

I get it though and will be nice overall.

Just another way to make sure we are doing what we are told when we are told. Personally if I can get away with not getting a ticket for having an expired tag, I think I earned those few extra months. Oh well.

No insurance would be "dirty."

I was referring to motorcycle inspection, which doesn't require emissions, but yes, I have a "Classic" K5 Blazer that does not require emissions, as well as a modern 4-Runner, that does.
