Roman Memorial Ride 5/12

Can't begin to express the loss I feel over Romans death. Eric was a class act all the way around. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it, except remember him for what he was...... a skilled rider, a friend to everyone he met.

This Saturday at MSRH we will hold the 1pm session in Eric's honor. His usual pit spot will be saved for him, with a donation box for those who wish to help his family with final expenses. All are invited to come and spend a half hour riding at Eric's favorite place, the track. It will be an open session, helmet, gloves, and at least a jacket are required. Eric was serious about his track riding and I would expect you to honor him and his passing with restraint.

It is my sincerest hope that all of you will make it out to see that this is the place for your spirited riding. Eric was a true talent on two wheels, let's let his death remind us all, that no matter who you are, how long you've ridden, or how well you ride, public roads are no place to seek thrills. Of all the riders I know, Eric would have been the one to pull it off, and save it. If he never tought you anything on the track, let him teach you this.

As of 5/12 LMS will accept one less rider per event, Eric Roman never missed one of our track days, and his spot will stay reserved. I'm sure that today is the day that JC and the rest of the boy up there on the heavenly track, all got a bit faster. May rest your worthy soul my friend, I will miss you.

Everyone is welcome, free of charge to come ride and remember a good man.

I never personally spoke with him, just exchanged hello's at the track. I knew what the back of his bike looked like, and respected him as one of the fast guys.

I have never met him either.

I just know that he would always pass me along with everyone else coming out of T18 but he would be on one wheel all the way down the home stretch.

I will try to be there for him this Saturday.

I've had some PM questions............

No charge for the half hour memorial
NOT A RACE
Wear basic safety gear and you're on the track. (helmet, gloves, jacket)
Please no tee shirts or flip flops, Eric would laugh at you.
