According to the news just now, he entered an exit ramp on the freeway and an oak 4x4 about 8 feet long from an 18 wheeler's trailer was in the roadway. He had to be in lean without a place to go from views of the scene I saw. I hit one of those before in my truck and I ended up having to replace 2 custom made billet wheels. They aren't forgiving.

I don't recall meeting the guy but may he rest in peace and I pray for his family and friends so that they can get through this tough time.

Police report a group of motorcycles was travelling northbound on the East Loop last night. Authorities say as they approached the entrance ramp to the East Freeway, there was a large wooden board lying on the road. One of the riders hit the board, sending his bike flying through the air.

"Even though he was wearing a helmet, he hit the guard rail hard enough that he was killed instantly," said David Runyan with the Houston Police Department.

Police say the victim appeared to be speeding. No one else was injured.

, that was some bad luck.

Damned people who don't secure their load and let fly out of their trucks/trailers.

oh man i almost hit one of them long pieces of wood off the beltway. those are the pieces the drivers use to stick behind the tires of the loads they are carrying. I didn't hit it but i got after thinking of the damage that would have been inflicted if i had

TO A WONDERFUL FRIEND, I LUV U!!!

Dear Eric,

I'm so struck with grief right now I can't even start. I saw u last night while pulling into pp1 but u were already on your moto backing out for that fateful ride. I hate i didn't MAKE a chance 2 speak 2 u b4 u left, but I'm thankful the last time I saw u alive was while u were doing something u ABSOLUTELY loved. Man u were a moto :notworthy on that bike, nothing u couldn't do, and I loved watching every minute of it!!

U and I became very close personal friends after u took me all the way 2 Austin 2 pick up my new bike. Out of all my "close" friends, U were the only 1 willing 2 take me 2 get my bike, even though u barely knew me a week. I am just heart broken right now that our stubborness 2 say who was wrong in a trivial argument, allowed 1 moment of ur friendship to be taken from me. I took that true friendship for granted, and I will never forgive myself for that.

I know I failed 2 mention a lot 2 u when u were here, but u were a hero 2 me in life. U were someone I could only aspire 2 be, as far as ur love for riding, motivation and dedication 2 building a better rider outta me , appreciation of the true friendship we had, LOVE FOR LIFE, and eagerness to please your family and those of us close 2 u.

It was a blessing 2 have known u even for a minute, and I am truly a better person for knowing u. U WILL HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I'LL MISS U and how much I LOVED U!!!!! I know it counts for u when it's said THE GOOD DIE YOUNG, because out of all the human in u, U WERE A GOOD PERSON.

I really don't know what else 2 say, other than I know U ARE NOW BURNING RUBBER AROUND 'S SUPER MOTO GP TRACK (and of course u have the fastest time :icon_bigg ) and I'm glad that I have an angel up there watching over me when I ride.

I LOVE U ERIC and WILL MISS U DEEPLY!!!! MY PRAYERS ARE WITH UR FAMILY THAT THEY MAY FIND PEACE IN THESE TROUBLED WATERS.

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYERS; IN YOUR MERCY, BRING US TO YOUR PLACE OF PEACE AND LIGHT THE SOUL OF YOUR SERVANT ERIC ROMAN, WHOM YOU HAVE SUMMONED FROMT HIS WORLD. CALL HIM TO BE NUMBERED IN THE FELLOWSHIP OF YOUR SAINTS. WE ASK THIS THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN

Truly sad day, Eric was what I considered one of the good guys. He was always willing to help out the guys at the track, and he was indeed a skilled rider. I wish there was something I could do to change this..... My thoughts are with your family my friend, you will be sorely missed.

unbelievable,
I regret that I never personally had a chance to talk to him, but I have seen him many times at the track and he always seemed like a cheerful guy that was enjoying life to the fullest. I spent most of my last day at MSRH following him around and he was probably the most comfortable, confident rider I've ever had the pleasure of riding with. I'm sure he will be sorely missed by all and if theres anything we can do to help his family, please let us know.
