RIP

We really do need to make a sticky to list all of the deaths per season in rememberance of each fallen rider.
Maybe then some of us will remember to leave our cape and battle ax at the house when we go ride.

eric was a good friend to me. definately not a noob on the street or track. granted that he might have been speeding on the streets....this can happen to anybody. i was supposed to ride around at MSRH with him this saturday and follow his lines.....this is another shocker.

RIP. the good die young

Is there a way for a mod to combine the threads that pertain to the same incident? So we dont have multiple ones going on.

no, just a disregard for judgement. not trying to take away from anyone's loss here, but a word to the wise: a 2x4 @ 140 is like hitting a brick wall. it will put you down no matter what you do. just one of the thousands of reasons why those speeds aren't safe on the street. especially in the area he was in.

2x4 is pretty small, but if you don't know what do it's pretty big.
so hows about a explanation of what to do and what not to do at a higher rate of speed?

@ 140 not alot. chances are your gonna target fixate and just run over it if you even see it (being it was dark). then go into a tank slapper/speed wobble. and down you go.

so basically quite riding like a jackass on the streets.

not a 2x4, it was a 4x4.

(5/10/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - Debris on the road may have cost a motorcyclist his life in east Houston.

Police report a group of motorcycles was travelling northbound on the East Loop last night. Authorities say as they approached the entrance ramp to the East Freeway, there was a large wooden board lying on the road. One of the riders hit the board, sending his bike flying through the air.

"Even though he was wearing a helmet, he hit the guard rail hard enough that he was killed instantly," said David Runyan with the Houston Police Department.

Police say the victim appeared to be speeding. No one else was injured.

my buddy was there at the accident, maybe he will post or i'll give him a call later today. and the speeds are always over exaggerate, probably 120ish, but still fast enough to do some damage.
