I apologize for using the word midget,I should have known It would have offended you and your counter part.

I stand by my assessment of the fz09.

I actually agree with Mantoe on this. Ive done the demo ride on this bike and had the same complaints and im a light weight guy. This would be a fun hooligan bike as the front just come up, and that was fun to play with. However i would be scared to take this thing in corners, with the on/off throttle. I felt like i would high side to the moon on this thing. You should still try it out, as it may be what you want, just not my cup of tea.

Looks like a Bazzaz and eventually the PC-V have fixed the throttle response issue. I'm sure you could also re-valve the springs.

Either way, the next cost effective triple costs right over $9,300 (base Triumph). Maybe the mods would still be worth it?

Is the versys sporty?

Never ridden a bike before I bought them, they've all been sporty.

Fz-09 MSRP $7990
Street Triple R $9999

21%, but its like 2k. If you're financing thats not that much more a month for a bike thats tried and true. The FZ-09 will take at least 1-1.5k to make rideable. The Suspension is Horrrrrible...and so is the twitchy throttle. Plus tons of aftermarket stuff for the Street R already.

It really is a no brainer, plus I'm sure you could find a used street triple for close to what they want for the fz09.

I was heaily debating the fz not too long ago. But i found a new 13 street triple for 9950 out the door. Hard to compare the two.

Triumph is way better.

The fz is def a beginner bike. Is a cool bike nonetheless. Id say look for a leftover triple like i did...saved a bunch of money. And insurance is cheaper.

Thats what im saying ^^^. The FZ-09 is Yamaha's FIRST ATTEMPT at making a triple. I give it a few years before its competitive.

I want the bike to be good, but after a lengthy test ride, I would not recommend this bike to anyone.
