By custom tank you mean huge dent right?

What sort of bike are you looking for? Street or track? Another super sport? Gold wing? Harley?

I have a 2012 FZ6R if you would be interested.
600cc, more upright and comfy than a supersport.
Plenty of get up and go. Only selling cuz I'm only interested in track and only have room for one bike.
Selling for well under your budget.
PM if interested

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who has offered suggestions.

Second, I want to try everything. Because of this, I've decided on trading in my car and motorcycle every two years. Also, someone suggested that I ride as many different styles of motorcycles as I can. That way I can find out what kind I really like. But, right now I still want something sporty. Someone suggested a v-twin motard.

Being back on the market, today I am looking at a 2010 Aprilia Dorsoduro and a 2008 Aprilia Shiver 750. From what I've read, it appears that both of these bikes are very similar. Comfort and great city street handling are now really important to me now that I might be moving to downtown Austin for a job. On the down side, I've heard that I will need a side job to the purchase of parts.

If you want to try different bikes before you buy, I think steelhorserentals (?? ((site sponsor))) rents out a few different kinds.

Well, I had my first serious tumble this morning. All was going well at 5:30 AM as I was traveling Eastbound on Westheimer to get onto the Northbound Beltway. As I rounded the corner the car in front of me slammed on her brakes, I thought I should go around, I don't want to brake in the middle of a 25 mph turn. Then, I thought, why is she stopping? What if running into that is worst? What if she looks at me rounding the outside? People tend to go where they are looking. Still in indecisive fear I braked; I felt the tires lock as they and begin to slide out from under me. I tried to jump free of the bike. but got caught underneath her. She skidded to a stop. As I tried to kick myself free to move out of the way of the traffic I knew was coming my way. I looked up to the on coming traffic a jacked up Ford F-250 was coming right toward me. It was in slow motion. My first reaction was to fight death. I kicked and kicked. At the zero second, he pulled aside and stopped.

I finally managed to kick myself free. All I could think about was get ready for the next car. I swung around and prepared to dodge the next car. Everyone had stopped for me. The truck driven by an off duty police officer and was blocking traffic. I tried to pick my bike up but, was shaking too much. With his help we got her standing and he looked at me and said, "If I were you, I'd scoot, now!" I fired her up and took off. I got to work 12 minutes late. LOL!

I usually wear thin gloves but, because it has been cold and I JUST bought thick armoured winter gloves. I always wear a full body armoured track suit of full leather. After this tumble, let's just say that I need all new leathers and new gloves. I visit doc tomorrow. I'll give a body report then. All of my skin is intact and I don't feel any broken bones. With all of the crazy stunts I've pulled in my 34 years, I don't know what a broken bone feels like because I've never broken any.

The afternoon ride from work, back home was like getting on a horse that just threw me off. I'm working at a coffee shop on my laptop. I can't wait to get back on her and ride the two miles home! I'm standing tall and feel alive!

The minor reason of this post is to give new riders hope that all tumbles are not the end -- WEAR PROTECTION, in and out of bed!!! The major purpose of this post is to describe the event and to say a HUGE thank you to the officer who helped me, whoever you are. If anyone on the force hears of this and knows that guy, please tell them, I am eternally grateful!
