Zip ties and ft forks

So I'm waiting to see how much ohlins internals will cost compared to racetech

In the mean time, I've put a zip tie on my front fork to see how much in using up, lol

All of the travel.

Anyways somebody posted up that the zip ties will scratch they fork legs, anybody ever hear that before?

Zip ties won't, but grit caught between the zip tie will.

I have never heard anyone complain about it.

I have a zip tie around a tube on all of my bikes (dirt, street, bicycle). No scratches on any of the tubes caused from the zip tie. The tie won't move very much. When I am "testing" travel, I first give a quick wipe to the tube and then go bouncing down the trail. The first time you bottom out, the zip tie will stay in place (as you already know). It doesn't take long to find out how far you will compress the fork. Dirt and grit likely won't even have the chance to ride the zip tie down the tube. I think you would be fine on the road.

why swap internals? why not just springs and clickers until you find that won't do the trick?

Because getting to put the Ohlins sticker on is a much bigger extension.
