Help me understand...

So Yesterday on my way home from work, a guy on a rather new looking FZ1 pulls up behind me at a light. He was wearing his "protective" shorts and t-shirt and sunglasses like everyone does but I really didn't care much about that, it was what happened next is what confused the out of me..... we take off from the light, get going about 45, I keep watching him 'cause we were staggered but he was kind of close. Then as I look in the mirror, I see him lean real far forward and pull his legs up onto the passenger seat....not the passenger pegs, but the seat!!! He then lays down like superman and took off weaving through cars. I then catch him about a mile later as he was turning into a neighborhood....well, he obviously needed to shift down, so as soon as he makes the turn he shifts down. The only thing is, he wasn't sitting back up yet! He was still playin' superman!! So how did he shift down you ask? HE REACHED DOWN WITH HIS HAND AND SHIFTED DOWN all while being superman through the neighborhood!! WTF??? I keep seeing pics of people riding like this, and seeing as how I have never done so nor have the desire, I ask you guys why do people ride like that? Is it comfortable? Is it the "cool" factor? It's not that I mind, I was just curious, 'cause I could not quit laughing after that! (and dude, if you're on here....wow....you crack me up!!:laughing6 )

some guy did that the other day on a little group ride i did. i guess riding the streets with me makes people think ima be stupid out there.. i kept the front wheel down on the freeway all night. and only pulled it up on the feeder a couple times.. but this guy pulls out of the formation.. pulls up next to me and hops to the the superman thingy.. I was truly 1 upped that night.

i think he is a member? #3 icon jacket silver fz1?

I think these guys should get extended idle cables and just idle the bike to 6k, get er in 5th gear (roughly 60mphish) and do a christ for like 5 miles. thats about the only both wheels on the ground stunt that I like... burnouts, ghey... sitting on the tank, ghey... superman, ghey...

not trying to start a race game, but was he black?
my neighbor asked to take my other bike on a ride with me, as he has sold his bike, so i said sure, and he was pulling ALL KINDS of stupid on the freeway. No helmet, no nothing, 2nd gear pop-ups, supremans, weaving thru traffic. It made me almost wanna come up beside him and give him a little nudge, but he WAS on MY bike... That's the last time he's ever gonna touch my bike! and yeah he was on the R1 cuz "the XR is scary"...

Clutchless shifting.

I may be stretching it here but I think I might know why ...

Maybe these guys have seen some racing here and there but not enough to know how the guys are truly tucking in. Maybe they think that's how they're doing it.
