My opinion its no different from if your were in your car and had your music playing. ++ you would have to be jamming your ipod pretty hard to not hear anything around you. If you cant hear anything then thats because you busted your eardrums along time ago.

i use mine, and love it... i make sure the volume is low enough to still hear my engine, and what is going on around me... not once have i ever felt it was a distraction... i love mine. i dont think it is any diff than listening to the radio in your car.

I have $50 sony earbuds and I'll never have anything else. I'm actually on my second set cause the first ones got dirty (white wires) from riding and I tried to use my thumbnail to scrape off some gunk and I tore the rubber. They are really nice when on an airplane cause they block most of the noise out and you can actually hear bass in the music.

I think it depends on what kind of riding. In town with traffic I think you shouldn't. Slabb'n on a boring highway or jammin' to some twisties way out in the country tunes help alot.

I rock 'em. A little Rage puts me in the zone and I feel like I pay more attention to what's going on around me. I am still able to hear everything around me too.

+1 on the moderated vol - love to jam, but have to remember to make sure you are around to do so

The first prototype worked really well but scuffed the ipod up. Next round will be much more improved. BTW my father has filed the patent work on this little project, so once there is a finished product we plan to market it. If anyone is interested please let me know.

inside jacket pocket...don't have one?...have one sewn in...not going anywhere if you velcro/zip the pocket and cinch up the bottom of your jacket...never had any problems with it even coming out of the pocket...I'm curious to see what this holder doc_zx10r and his pops are working on

Setting it on low and Rt ear only. Weird about the left ear thing. It's like elevator music because the words are not clear, but you just want the hint of a song somtimes... I thought it would be bad because of the distraction too, but it helps keep me on the bike instead of in the next ZONE on the long commute to work.

I'll save the IPOD for snowboarding and working out, not while riding fast on 2 wheels.
