I'm confused. Why would yammy release a bike so close in specs? $1k less, for a little less power(assumed)!and marginally less weight. Is there any other major difference? Triple vs parallel twin?

Yes.

I agree that they are so close in price I don't know why anyone would opt for the 7. 40hp for $1k extra, I'll take the 9.

Lower price, shorter wheelbase, less horsepower, more aggressive cosmetics and significantly narrower.

You get less for your money but it seems possible some might prefer the 07. It is a '15 model so the fz-09 could be getting a price increase.

58 mpg? That's pretty impressive. For someone who likes the FZ styling but is more interested in an economical urban commuter than a racer (and DOESN'T want a Grom), seems like a nice bike.

I am really intetested in the fz 09 , i think its the perfect mix of tard and street bike, i happen to like the naked bike look but triumph always seemed to be out of my price range , ill go look at the dealer and see how i feel once i see it in person

^Ride it to. VERY mixed opinions from when most of us test rode them a couple months ago. There's lots to pick at... which is really important to some, and easy to overlook by others.

Yup, hated the fz9. I really wanted one too. Wouldn't recommend one. The triumph street triple is a better option at that price...

I test rode a fz09 really twitchy throttle and tank is hard to grip. Lots of torque though bet it wheelies like . Brakes and suspention where ok, quality defently below a stret triple but I liked it I dont think it would disappoint u unless u go motogp. On it

I completely take back what I said(typed?).

I rode the FZ-09 and FZ-07 back to back yesterday and I would absolutely buy the 7 over the 9.

The 9's motor is fantastic, power for days. That's where by praise ends. I hated the seat, it pushes you forward into the gas tank and puts your feet behind you in an unnatural position. Really hard to hold on with your legs. The throttle twitchyness thing didn't bother me too much, I could get used to it.

I was really disappointed that I didn't like this bike, I was dead set on getting one.

I rode the FZ-07 right after, much better seating and foot position. Not nearly the power, brakes aren't as good, suspension is basically non-adjustable but I had 10x more fun on this bike. You can hammer it in 1st gear and it takes off. Takes a little work to get the wheel in the air but it's possible. For a bike to zip around the city with the some highway riding in between this bike is perfect. I had it up to about 120mph, more than you'd ever need in the city. Super fun bike, I WANT ONE.

I rode a Monster 1200 after both of these and this look is still on my face-> Not really in my price range though at $14,000

So... I was thinking it would be nice if it came with that paint and those tires... They are PR4s right? Yammy's website shows that paint and those tires on the bike stock. Could this true? Anyone know if there's one in Houston?
