I have a race take off rear tire works well with plenty of tread but has some cold tearing.
Would that be ok for a ridesmart level one trackday?

You can also flip some tires and run them backwards. Thus can clean up the tearing.

That tire will work, it's the SC2 I think so it's a medium. Just give it a lap or two too feel it in. After the round robin put your hand it and it will feel warm. Running race compound tires on my street bike for years and they are always warm just riding around town.

You can run that tire, just check with the Pirelli guy. the most important this is to run the correct pressures.

Dont run 34 rear on that tire. This isnt a street tire. Its a race tire. The rear should be more like 26 ish. What works for other people might not work for you. I do know that 34 in the rear is too much pressure. Call john and ask the question.he is the true expert. Good luck.

Running 34 is fine for the street you want 23 on warmers for that tire. In L1 I'd run 23 in that tire and adjust it when I got off the track.

All dot race tires are street legal, this is why a lot of us are saying just call the experts and have it answered within 2 mins.

Now we have craig going through another mental breakdown again, look what you did!

Which is the low end of the hot range and 23 the low end of the cold range. I gave him the 23 as a starting point because if he's not building up temp and increasing pressure than it's not as sticky, lowering the pressure to the bottom of the range will allow more heat to build up and give more grip.

Street version????? Supercorsa sp or sc. That is gonna make a huge difference in tire preassure. You said race take off so I was assuming you were talking about the sc race tire.
