rm85 project. thinking of doing some tmgp

Just picked up an 04 rm85 small wheel. Just started to Tear her down. the previous owner definitely miss treated her. Currently buying some parts to get her back to good shape. So far cleaned the tank out(had floating particles) Cleaned radiator out (looks to be rusty water).Took top end off going to take the cylinder to get checked out this week. Anyone know a place?
Here is my parts list so far.

Top end kit
carb kit
clutch kit
fork seals
chain and sprockets
brake pads
Muffler packing

Has stock exhaust. Excel wheels and asv levers.thats the only after market parts.

Interested in some tmgp. What wheel set ups are you running on the 85s. 12 in?Is it a good start for a tmgp bike? Any info helps thanks guys

Only been a couple 85’s out there from time to time since the bike is only legal to race a couple sprint races, not legal for endurance

Set it up right it should be a hoot! I love my YZ85, with a little work you can make a lot of 125's get nervous.

Definitely not 12". a 50 motocross bike has those. Get with Tim Johnson. We used to race endurance on the 85 in CMRA. Goes be screen name Gateman.

I have a set for sale. They are the best of the best. It's the only way to go. Has a big 270mm disc on the front.

Your 04 RM 85 will fit with this set. Yes, Mr. Wieland is correct about the 12" wheels, besides the 2.15 rims are very hard to get these days. Even Cam Morehead @mmracing.biz has had some trouble finding 12" wheel sets to build as he has in the past. Great fellow BTW.

I live in Conroe and it might turn you on to come look at the mini's I have for sale. Mr. Wieland has one pictured in his avatar.
