Looks like the R1 has a pretty decent torque dip between 6-8k?
Looks like the GSXR has it too, although not as bad.

It's impressive nonetheless nowadays that all of the inline 4s are making 155 plus rwhp and 76-80 ft. lbs. of torque.

Surely this is contributed to lean fueling to pass emission regs?

I was surprised to see the R1 putting out the worst low end numbers with the new dual stage intake runners. I thought the whole purpose of them was to improve the bottom while maintaining top end power.

The Honda also obtains it's peak torque about 1000 rpm lower than the other inline 4's and nearly as low as the 1098 and as maskale said smoothest power curve - hp and torque!

I'd still take the R1. Like Godsuki said I think those dips are tuned in for either emissions or to help keep people from wearing it as a hat.

The increase in performance is getting smaller these days. Only a 2hp jump over the ZX-10R but 2 ft-lbs less torque.

BTW, how long ago did you get your RRW? I am still waiting on mine in the mail.
