Nah I think I'll just drive up and watch it in person. Then ride road America for two days after that.

Rainy and lots of red flags. Road America is awesome though, just a ribbon of Tarmac cut through the woods. You get to sit a lot closer to the track then at COTA so that was cool. I didn't take any pics just enjoying myself with some friends and trying to learn the lines from the pros.

Unfortunately my bike isn't race ready so I didn't pass tech....

Lots of upset racers about this past weekend.

But, all racers can voluntarily withdraw from an unsafe race. I mean, I don't go out racing around at trackdays in the pouring rain.

Safety always comes first. That part that sucks is IMO they can't really call it quits and pull off the track. Now the AMA SBK season is cut even shorter. When there are only 6 races to gain points you can't just pull in and quit. One guy stays on track and gains instant point advantage. I feel that forces them to take the risk.

It is sad that American road racing has come to this.

Although there is strength in numbers. If the teams stand together they could fight the officials. Case in point although in a different realm, Denver NHRA event a few years back. NHRA was only preping the track to the 1000' because that's the finish line for the freakshows. Pro stock however still runs to the 1320. Needless to say those guys where having serious issues at the top end. Long story short after NHRA refused to do anything about it every single Pro stock team packed up their stuff and refused to run. Having empty staging lanes with butts in the grandstand change the officials minds real quick and suddenly the track was preped to the 1320'.

Point of my rant is spectators pay to watch the riders, riders get hurt.... Now you don't have a show.
