rider down hard but not RIP

Yesterday about 6-7pm on i-10 at the off ramp kirkwood exit.

I roled up on it after it happened.
looked like a red dual sport BMW I could see the cylinders on the side of the bike.
The tank looked like it had a word that stated with the letter A
I couldn't figure out what happened in theis senario.
I didn't see a helmet any where but the people that stopeed to help were holding the back of his head with a rag of some sort to slow the bleeding.

I'd say I missed the wreck buy less than 2-3 min. there wasn't even a wrecker there yet.
hope the guy is ok....

I didn't see it posted on here yet.

I looked around through a few news outlets and couldn't find anything about the wreck. Hopefully rider ended up ok.

I think the fact that you didn't see it on any news outlet is a good sign!

I know the Squid. It could have been something easy to avoid but he is not a good listener. I offered him many times my street riding gear (for free) since I don't ride streets anymore. I finally had convinced him to go to the track with me on the next Ride Smart TD coming up on the 14th... He is at the ICU Memorial Hermann in the medical center. He already went thru a couple surgeries in attempt to save his foot which was hanging from the leg. He is going in and out of conscience and up to now he have no idea of the accident. The good news is that he was able to recognize his mother when he came to conscience for a quick minute. They are going to take a second look at his head this afternoon to see about the bleeding. He might gonna have to do a surgery for that as well. I'm praying for him and giving all the support I can to the family...
Be safe out the kids! Don't gamble with your life. Super Man syndrome is a real thing. Don't think it will never happen to you. Dress for the slide and not for the ride... Use all the gear all the time!!!

I went to visit the squid master last night and he is doing a lot better. He is going to do another surgery in his left leg today but the doctor already assure that he will walk again. They examined the had again and everything is looking good. He also said he is not done with bikes yet and he promised me that he will have all his gear all the time for now on

When he gets better, mind if he recounts what happened, so that we may all learn from his mistakes?

That is GREAT news. No brain damage is a huge blessing.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Now that he is doing OK, I'm very curious about the police investigation which is about to start. He think his brother got into a road rage and as he was pulling out of the freeway, when the truck in front of him brake checked him and he bought it, causing him to crash in the back of the truck and flying all the way to the back window and landing in the back of the pick up truck and that's why he does not have any road rash... He's brother is asking if anyone have seeing anything that could help with this investigation because the facts don't add up.
I'll keep you guys posted with updates
