thats the best way

any ram or arm like mount is going to vibrate way to much and/or fall off

those of you using the supplied 3M taped mounts, do your mounts seal 100% or close to it? I've tried mounting mine using the curved mount yet it only sealed on the top and bottom edge. Makes me a little nervous.

Are you guys mounting them on the tank/flat spot or front?

I put one on my windshield and one on the back of the bike

the one on the back is to shaky to be any good

but the versys is a buzzy bike to start with...

The 3M mounts work fine. Recommend safety wire and your name on the case and camera in the event of an off.

Oh, and Arkansas Dave....any reason you're using the clutch on upshifts?

I use a curved GoPro stick-on, but just to be sure I drilled a hole thru the center of the mount for a nut and bolt, center of front fairing, no vibrations at all

if you are drilling holes in fairing...why not use tripod mount and 1/4-20 bolt? then it can be removed and reused in another spot where you drilled through material.

as far as what do I use....what do I NOT use?

helmet has both curved and flat stickies for normal J or quick release on top. side mount on side. front extension under a visor. with a few adapters cleverly secured, I also have a chesty like view that pans with head movement.

chesty

quick releases on my leatt for a chesty like view

vented strap mount used all over the place

handlebar and rollbar mounts

many a times I ride with my DIY PVC velcod to the bars and another gopro on a tripod-gorilla pod deal.

on my backpack strap I have a quick release rotating mount that I made from a broken otterbox-iphone holster.
