I'd pass on the BMW S1000R...

...in favor of this, if it's actually produced. Has the same tail-end profile I love on the MV Dragster 800, with that timeless boxer.

Yep...Nothing like 60hp worth of knee burning, fall over at a stop light rumble....LOL

It is unique looking though...

Looks cool, but an s1000r you're getting for performance. Boxers look great (well i shouldnt say that), but they're about on of the most boring engines to ride. That being said I'll probably get one of these too! haha

Depends on what you want to do. A sportbike engine it ain't, but it pulls the RT and GS around just fine.

Ive ridden the RT/GS. Great for long miles...but just not "exciting". I prefer a parallel or v-twin to a boxer.

Bike is just a tool. The ride and the rider makes things "exciting". I've seen an RT rider run at paces that a whole lot MHers on sportbikes have trouble keeping up.

Anyhow, I like this wethead boxer on the RT and GS, but the packaging on the naked roadster isn't going well. It's even worse than the Monster 1200. BMW tries to hide the bulk by slimming the subframe, but I still prefer the simplicity of the air-oil cooled engine on a naked R.

The telelever had to go. They kept it on the RT by hiding all that mess under the bulbous fairing. Here... they can't.

For me, 125 hp is enough, and it just looks killer. Yeah, the s1kr beats it in performance, but I'd choose this over the s1kr for the same reason I'd choose the MV Dragster over it: looks.

Of course, I say now that 125 hp is enough, as it's more than I've ever had, but I'm also about to bolt on a 30% increase to my daily, so we'll see what I say after I get this setup finished

I think the final model wont be as cool looking. Just like the Rnine-T...the concept model was better since they prolly spent a ton on it. They'll pull from the parts bin to save costs.

Yeah the wheel/subframe make it just like the Dragster. Dragster is probably going to be my girls next bike. Small, agile, sexy and fits her well.

No way will production models make 125 rwhp... I doubt the prototype actually dynoed that much... Probably more of a "guess-ta-ment"...

I could see 95-100 hp maybe but... It will still be pitifully slow...

The R1200S boxer cup edition ran low 12 sec 1/4s @ 80rwhp...

80hp+500lbs = Speed of a 5.0 mustang...
