CBR1100xx resurection

I just wanted to share some of the work I've done on my bike in the past year.

2002 Honda CBR1100xx. It was a heap when I got. A guy was getting kicked out of the Army and had two days to get rid of this before he flew out. I gave him $500. All the fairings were trashed, bent forks, warped rotors, leaking oil out of the oil cooler, dry rotted tires, rusty chain. Needless to say I had a lot of work to do.

Pictures when I picked it up.

First thing I did was get it stripped down. It had led's all over it so I had to rip out all the wiring from those and see how much had been tampered with. Once I got past the cosmetics it was in pretty decent shape.

I'm not a fan of the stock seat and tail so had plans to swap to a 06/07 CBR1000RR tail. I mocked it up to figure out the easiest way to make it fit.

I got a set of stock forks from Ebay to replace the bent ones.

Thanks man, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Plausible deniability. If I don't keep track the wife can't ask. I would guess in the range of $5k total.

I love it. It does everything you ask it to do and it does it well. Great for cross country trips but you can still put a knee on the ground(a better rider than me). Very well rounded bike.
