Did you miss the part where I mentioned menu items shortened and a possible food truck.

Also the part about the parking lot right next to it being cleared out for just bikes?

If things are not better, then by all means switch places..

My opinion is based on all of the years hosting the WSBK/MotoGP race viewing parties, every hopping place in town wanted to have our group, but after 1 or 2 , everything slid and once football season started they did not want to give us the big screens for Motorcycle Racing, Firkin and Phoenix was the only place that saw the season through with us and that is why I stayed there!
Vu told people that he made a commitment to us and he would honor it, and that my friends is how you run a business!
I get what you are saying, J.R.

the very first meet was a huge fail on their kitchen part and Dave recognized this. He made hanges and I think someone also got fired.

But we have had it consistent even after those changes. People still keep coming and complaining about the service.

What I'm going by concerning winstons is that we had about 100 plus bicycles all at once come there and we had no issues with slow service. That was one huge wave with little warning. they were very ready.

I'll mention this to Dave again today. Let him know we will give this a try just to see how it goes.

It's not like this was not mentioned to dave, so it's not something that should be a huge surprise.

The guys at refinery were good but their service always lacked and we ended up moving... In the end, it is what is going to make the majority happy.

You can't please everyone, but you can please as many as possible.

Like I have been saying, I am a huge fan of Daves, but can't ignore what I keep hearing, and I know I'm not the only one that has heard it.

NO i saw that part. Im talking about the actual BAR itself. It can fit maybe 20 people tops? The length of the bar is also 15Ft long. Now Imagine all the people at Outlaw Dave's trying to wait in a huge line to that tiny small bar, which you could fit 3-4 bar tenders tops.

If theres bad weather, there is not much indoors either.

IO'm not trying to rain on the parade, but this would be smallest physical venue the central meet has ever had.

Is Tiffany willing to agree to less then 5-10 minute waits for drinks? She needs a secondary bar setup and more kitchen help. Last time we were there for the normal WEd. meet we waited for an hour for food and 20 minutes for drinks. Granted issues like receipts not printing..etc helped that, but its not the first time we've had issues.

Last time she had a tub girl for us.

Regarding you guys waiting, don't you guys usually use a waitress or waiter? That could account for your wait on drinks.

You are underselling the space of the bar.

Well, we can still stay at Outlaws then and just keep this as an alternative for July's meet or something.

I was seeing this from the first hand experience of how they handled a huge crowd I brought in. I was super skeptical about Winston's and I even told Jeff that we could never have a central meet there.

After dealing with them and taking big groups there, my mind was changed. The big seller was when she mentioned that she had requested the parking lot right next to the bar to be open completely free to only motorcycles. That was the last ingredient that sold me on the spot.

the space at Dave's is great, but I find myself walking from point A to point B just to see who has arrived to say "hi" to and who is where.

With a smaller space it gives everyone zero excuse not to mingle

True true. I just say it needs to be thought out really well. Also, if one thing falls through, like the parking lot, beer tub girl, waitress not showing up (This has happened twice) then we're .

That scenario has played out at ODH more times than I care to count.

Unfortunately.

Emily was great, the bartender guy is great, Dave is awesome...Even the new girl is cool...

But seems some of the other staff that is essential needs to get thier act together.

If this one fails you can put it on me and tell me "I told you so"...

You brought another large group here? You should be a party planner or event coordinator. You could do bar mitzvahs and everything supplying partygoers with everything from ice sculptures to cupcakes with the guest of honor's initials written in their favorite color frosting. You are really missing your calling here.

I did read. My opinion on it stands.

Moving forward..About the parking next door-Great. Food/drinks/service/seating ..a place to SIT and eat.

They have about:
5 picnic tables = 8 ppl can sit elbow to elbow
5 small round tables = 4 ppl can sit
Inside the covered bar area has maybe 7 chairs at the bar = 7 ppl can sit
5 tables surrounding it with 2-4 chairs each (most are high tops with 2 chairs) = 14 ppl can sit
= 33
33
33
33
BUt then again, ppl can stand around and eat wings, not sure about burgers though.

Outlaw Daves has a kitchen and staff that was able to serve the amount it was able to seat.
I think thats a great indicator of how an establishment would be able to handle its patrons.
With Winston's being even smaller, I doubt itll be able to handle the masses but you did mention you brought 150 bicyclists and they held up.

Capitol Bar is pretty huge (with their back patio thats away from the parking lot). They have 1 huge rectangular bar inside with about 4 bartenders and a smaller one outside with 2 bartenders. Bad part is parking. WHile its an OK size, it wont fit 60+ bikes, parking lot is L Shaped. Being off Main isnt too terrible bc theyre at a big intersection (McGowen) and at the corner of Bremond. It does get a little tight with vehicles around. Dont think its a happening spot on a Wed though so its a plus. Thurs, moreso.

As much as I like variety and diff venues, I think a set spot for Central Meet is best.
Surrounding areas can have their rotating meets every wednesday..(like I have always done, never had a Public Meet at the same place twice)

Ivan is the community organizer of moto houston. That's how the potus got his start.
Comments Winston is small but if they change up the menu and get additional parking it may work. Lord help the person that parks in the back and needs to leave early. Food is good not sure about a limited menu, think about the vegans in the group.

ODs may have some issues but he is a big supporter and will be curious how discussions go and what changes would be made. Location certainly seems better.

Oooooops. 81. Not 33.
Im going off memory about the table count, btw. I think there are less tables.
It could be a meetup spot n 25% orders, rest just hangs out, loitering. Thatll work. Lol.
