Speed and Strength

Hey guys, I'm getting back in the game (Just bought a 2009 CBR600rr) and I was gonna get some new gear.

I'm looking into some new jackets and gloves and I just came up on this brand.

The prices are low and the designs are really cool, reminds me a ton of icon when they first came out.

Was hoping you guys could give your input on this brand.

TIA

the jackets, gloves will work great. if you can, i recommend alpine stars or dainese, just little bit better fit and better quality. but speed and strength holds up pretty alright n crashes. If you call House of paint, they have REALLY good deal on alpine stars and tony is very knowledgeable about gear so I would ask him for some advice also

Crashed 3 times on my sipped and strength suit. It does really well
In crashes. My leather jacket is heavy but top notch quality and armor.

Thanks guys!!

I'll give Tony a call and see if he has any closeout gear for sale.

BTW, I think I went to a trackday w/ this guy (carpooling w/ solracer and h.o.p. to TWS (Texas World Speedway))

OK so I know the OP was 2 years ago, but I just started riding and S/S was my price range, so that is what I can talk about. Anyone looking for this brand today will get some new feedback.

I bought Speed & Strength's orange and black jacket from Tucker Rocky (upper right page), and have been wearing it almost every day now for 2-3 weeks. I haven't crashed or anything, so I can't speak on that function. The first thing I noticed is the velcro cinches on the wrist were sewn on so cheaply that they have almost fell off. I actually went to a tailor today who stitched them on securely for me. It comes with a normal hoodie as the liner, which is freakin HOT for Houston, but is fully removable.

I also bought one of their helmets, which (not having lots of helmet experience) I would rate is a good starter helmet (for me). It has drop down sun visor, it can open to 3/4 face to provide air when stopped, it's visor is replaceable, and it has mouth and crown vents. And (my friend's think it's cool) the white lines glow in the dark

Finally, I also bought these gloves from S/S, which are comfortable to wear. The leather pads easily wipe condensation from my visor, and they also can activate the touch screen on my smartphone, so I don't have to take them off if I'm pulled over somewhere trying to use it.

i like the looks and price of some of the speed and strength gear, but i work in a jail, and walking in there with a big SS emblazoned on me sends a message that i rather wouldn't, lol.
