We just needed to go faster!
It happens occasionally, but not often. Depends entirely on the group. No sense in going faster when we had gaps forming at our speeds.

I think that was due to Trung and Myself unable to resist a quick sprint on CRR. lol.

There were several gaps after CRR that you and Trung had nothing to do with.

The problem with gapping so you can go faster on a noob ride is that you never know who is behind you. You may be able to take turns faster, but that doesn't mean your follower can. It's very important to remember that when signing up for noob rides. Almost lost one on RR awhile back because of that.

Noobs are a bit more stressed than those with more seat time. They have a lot to process, and one of the things that relieves the most stress is following another rider. it lets them focus on other things, such as holding a line and road debris. If the rider in front of them speeds up, they most likely will, too...especially if the rider in front has been holding a consistent speed through every other turn. All it takes is playing in one turn to put a noob in the ditch.

Group rides are about the group...not the individual rider. For noob rides, the pace has to be set for the lowest skill level. When they bump up, everyone bumps up. All my rides are like this, and I don't have a problem going faster as long as everyone can, too.

I only did it in the last set of turns on our way back to I10, and personally knew the rider behind me. That being said, I understand what you're saying and completely agree, hence the apology.

Still got plenty of tread on the sides. Maybe it was those half hearted attempts at wheelies

Too much SLAB. When you've got ride 1 hr just to get to the meet spot. not including the ride itself.

wheelies are fun... just saying.
