We all know its about self/throttle control. They only go as fast as you want them to. I've only owned 1000cc and up street bikes. I thought recently about buying a 600cc sport bike and for just a bit more I bought a super clean 06 CBR1000rr. Best move I ever made, the torque is amazing! Who doesn't love torque?

From a racing/track riding stand point I would have to agree. From personal experience I picked up by dropping down to a 600. It makes you think more and opens your eyes to what you need to work on and change to be faster.

In the professional world the 1000 to 600 are so close. Last week in France the slowest qualifying lap for GP was about a second faster then the top moto2 time. Their weights are a little different including the fact they also have less tyre and Chassis options.

For drag racing I have no argument. More power = faster ET.... As long as you can get your 60 ft right.

No one needs a liter bike, but responsible experienced riders NEED a liter bike. Squids need a liter bike. Stunters need a liter bike. Modern superbikes and supersports are so in performance that you really aren't gaining much in the lighter more maneuverability category with a 600. The tractability around town and on the twisties makes the liter bike a safer ride. Just my opinion.

Bunch of bullshit...
1. They're different...than anything that's not a litre bike
2. Make u lazy...not if you're trying to keep up w/another 1k
3. Stolen...only my zx14 ever got stolen
4. Razors edge not safe...which is it, they make you lazy or you're on razors edge?
5. No faster than a 600...maybe at GSS but not if there's a straight around.
6. Target for cops...put a Leo Vince on a grom & you're a target.
7. Cost too much...tires every 2k miles wtf?
8. Uncomfortable...myth.
9. Compromise handling for power...would rather track my '13 zx10 than my '03 cbr600 for handling reasons, but don't want to wad a zx10 up...again.
10. Don't teach you anything...see #4.
11. Isn't rewarding (because he got scared at wot at COTA)...I think they do bicycle days at COTA.

If he was terrified at COTA why did he accelerate to 200+ mph? I think he's just old now an his body can't handle it so he hates!

"When I rode the Ducati 1199 Panigale R down at COTA, I hit 202 mph...the experience was absolutely terrifying." I think he is saying he was terrified...after he did 200+...about when he was missing his Schwinn.

Lol @ 120mph. I got up to 170 ish at TWS (Texas World Speedway). On the 250 I only hit 90. Think I fixed it though.
