Riding an under-powered bike makes you think more.

All of the fair weather riders are saddled up and ready to party!!! I kinda wish we had a running sticky thread of all of the MH members that have passed as a reminder to the uninformed about the potential consequences of their actions.

We used too, nobody liked the thread so they moved it to the safety section that nobody reads. I thought it should have been a sticky

Something like

Who's crashed this yr, think we were in the 80-90s by year's end

Nah, if its a sticky people will stop noticing/not click. I like them being fresh each time, something to have in the back of your head.

Then again I also look at all the fcked up injury photos for the same reason, then make my younger brother look.

Maybe a sticky for a running list of fatalities/wrecks & runners. No drama or shittalking, just collecting data & keeping our own local stats to refer to etc

The difference between those threads you use to post and what jet is talking about is different. Your's just chronicles everyone that wrecked and jets suggestion is for only those have passed away from riding, there's a difference

A lot more injuries then deaths, it would fall way back quickly.

It was members or people "we" knew that crashed/died considering the numbers it was always on the ft page.

I was thinking along these lines, MH members that passed while riding. I don't even open most of the rider down or rip threads these days. . .unless there is a username in the title.

Maybe it's just me, but I value a limb as much as a life. Sometimes the news of a white sheet on the side of the road can sound rather clinical vs. a deputy picking up a severed leg from 4 lanes across. It's a devastating event either way.

I think individual threads started as they happen work better as grim reminders., but I think a running count of "XX dead, YY injured in 2014" might give better perspective on the reality of this "sport" of ours.

Not all fatal accidents are the fault of the rider.....Godspeen Glen.

http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/cou...&pid=171058226

At approximately 5:15 Friday morning, Glen McDowell was riding a motorcycle southbound on FM 2978. At this same time Orlando Morales was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck northbound in the 24900 block of FM 2978. Morales ran a red light in the intersection Huffsmith Road while McDowell was attempting a legal left hand turn. The front end of the Dodge struck the right side of the motorcycle. The Dodge and motorcycle remained engaged as they slid to rest with McDowell still in a seated position on the motorcycle.McDowell was critically injured during this crash and died a short time later at the Tomball Regional Hospital. This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division.

I wrecked over the weekend... and racing no less.

To be fair though, I was wearing gear, and it was on dirt at a sanctioned event.
