It's real easy to sit on a forum and speculate what happened.

Imagine this scenario:
Kid. 19 years old.
Home from college for the summer/weekend.
Family is up early, getting ready for church.
Eating breakfast. Mom realizes she ran out of milk.
Kid jumps in dad's new Audi, instead of his hand-me-down BMW, for a quick run to the store.

Biker. 46 years old.
Up early like every Sunday morning.
Riding to Starbucks for his ritual morning latte and muffin.
Red light. Rolls through thinking, 'it's early Sunday morning. no one's out on the roads."

Crash. One dead. One left scarred.

It's a tragedy for sure. I just don't know how we can point a finger without knowing the details.

Wear your gear, folks. It may not have saved this guy's life if he was ATGATT, but perhaps it would have if he wasn't geared up at the time.

Rip to the rider. Lost my barber to an accident in march, this seems to happen to often in Houston.

What does the speed capabilities if the car have to do with this? Not a thing.

And if they are, getting hit on a motorcycle is not going to hurt a bit. Besides, he had to slow down to make the turn.
A rider doesn't make it to 46 by being stupid.

Why don't they pull the traffic cam footage-those are cameras mounted on top of the traffic signal bars.

If there are cameras at that intersection the video may not be recorded

Live, but that doesn't mean that it's being recorded. Too bad they don't have red light cameras at that intersection

I don't KNOW the details but having been 19 at one point in my life I can guess with decent probability.
