RIP Triumph rider / woodlands

http://montgomerycountypolicereporte...ash-woodlands/

Just after 7:30am Sunday morning MCHD and The Woodlands Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of West Branch Crossing and Woodlands Parkway for a reported major accident. When they arrived on the scene they found a 1971 Triumph motorcycle driven by 46-year-old Christopher Sacco of The Woodlands in the ditch. The driver was deceased.

According to DPS Sacco was northbound on West Branch Crossing at Woodlands Parkway and was turning right onto Woodlands Parkway to go east. A 2014 Audi driven by Carlos Avila, 19, was eastbound on Woodlands Parkway and struck the motorcycle ejecting the driver.

DPS is unsure which vehicle disregarded the traffic light which caused the crash.

Looks like it will be hard to tell unless the driver of the car tells the truth or there was a witness who saw it. Its my worst fear every time I get on the road ... a car hitting me. I am not too worried or scared of wrecking the bike on my own ... most people survive that with few injuries depending on speed of course. Its getting hit by a another vehicle that changes the whole equation.

Unhappy

I know there have been a lot of cases like this lately, but this one gives me a sinking feeling . . . sounds just so depressing . . . the guy would've set out to enjoy a nice afternoon ride that ended up like this . . .
RIP rider . .

A new expensive car for a teenager doesn't really apply to this conversation. Just take a look around in that area and its the norm. Now the age of the driver could be taken into account because of experience, attention, or impairment. Sucks to hear this happend in my neck of the woodlands.

Expensive isn't as important as "fast".

Plus the whole new-car-gotta-go-fast-have-fun deal

The jury (MH) has already hung the kid for being 19 and driving an Audi. . .Murica!!

View the other side of the coin where a 19 year old on a fast sportbike who gets in a wreck with a car and suddenly age and possible speed of the bike have nothing to do with the crash. . .Murica!!

Hopefully both families find peace, sad situation all around.

Old guy on an old bike is more likely to have been doing this for years. Young guy in a new fast car is less likely to be paying attention/on his phone/sending snapchats/etc. In this situation I'm more likely to blame the cager.

If I hear about a 19 year old on a sportbike who gets in a wreck I'm likely to blame the rider.

Agreed that it's a bad situation either way. RIP rider.
