I'll make the best of it. How'd you know I know everything ;-)
I'm assuming I won't learn . I hope I'm proven wrong. I been riding 28 years. Figuring a beginner class to be hella boring. Do you instruct? Teach me something:-)

+1 on that point right there. Take the time to load up on all the right gear and be patient. I was as close as it gets to becoming a stain on 249 in a situation I had no control of once I was in it.

Probably not. Sure fire way to get a ticket and a tow, and a hefty fine.

I do have to admit, before I was a rider (and probably if I was still police and a rider), I would likely impound the bike and issue a citation. It just is not safe to operate without the MSF course. I did try it a couple of times - and I nearly wrecked just around the block. It's not worth risking not only your life, but a hefty fine, impound fee, and a no operators license, PLUS driving points to make your insurance SHOOT up.

That's a huge generalization, plenty of people with hundreds of hours and thousands of miles on two before they ever get on the street.

Msr course doesn't teach you much unless your starting from nothing.

Ditto on that. Just look around anywhere you're driving and try to find someone...anyone...who's actually paying attention to the road around them. Most everyone in Houston is talking / e-mailing / texting...some BS. I did dirtbike before I rode a streetbike too, a tree or dirt hill isn't going to run you down while @$%^ing around on it's iPhone or CrackBerry. Since you're already familiar with a bike, wait until you're all legal...the MSF course has a lot of useful tips.

...then you can shotgun down a 6-pack, throw on some flipper-flopppers, a tank-top, f@^%& the helmet, and pin-it down a rain-slicked 59 on a Friday night! ....just kidding (please don't).
