Exclamation Motorcycle license

I just recently bought a new bike. I've signed up for a motorcycle safty course so I can get my license. Will most cops let me slide since I've only owned my bike a week?

no they won't let you slide. It's actually the opposite. These days they are more than happy to tow your for you. You used to be ok. Not any more.

Best to wait. You might learn something in the school. The roads will always be there.

I road a year without one, even with speeding tickets they just told me I need to get the endorsement. But then again u could get stopped once and get your bike towed/ damaged. Your dice, your roll buddy.

Also, They taught not to cover brake. After commuting a year in houston..... I cover my brake with a few fingers , prolly only reason I'm alive. Not sure what the benefit is to covering your clutch and not covering your brake. maybe an SR thing in the begining??

I keep a finger on the top of the front break lever so I know where it is. Don't use the clutch except when stopping or starting.

They don't want newbies freaking out and grabbing a handful of front brake and going down. Same reason they want you over the clutch. If something goes wrong, grab clutch and coast it out, as opposed to the brake lever. Just a classroom/newbie thing.

I got reprimanded for doing the same thing in the MSF course. I gave the guy the weirdest look when he told me not to.

You think a judge will let you slide? Spoiler alert: no. I bought my bike and it sat in my living room for a month before I was able to legally ride it on the roads. If you have zero experience riding a motorcycle on the streets, don't risk your life and the lives of others. But then again, if you want to break the law, be prepared to pay the consequences and fines.
