Houston 1/2 mile this weekend

Anyone else going to Ellington to watch the Houston 1/2 mile this weekend? I'll be heading out bright and early to lend a hand and show support to one of our MH OG's as he runs his truck down the strip. I'll be wandering around in a big straw hat with an Austin Speed Shop patch on the front if you want to say hello.

Our very own Ricky Kline laid down a very respectable 145MPH 1/2 mile run on his first pass...go man go!

Boost was down to get a feel for the truck on his first pass. He's thinking the truck has 170+ MPH in it once he bumps the boost back up...I'm just hoping for a safe productive day for him as I get nervous watching these guys run!

160.1 was his fastest pass of the day... of a day for a home built truck on its first time to the 1/2 mile. Nice work Ricky!

I cant verify, but very belivable, I ran the event a couple years ago and went 165, and the lambos and ford gts were going that fast then, so im sure thats legit

I witnessed the UGR Lambo lay down the fastest pass of the day at 224.6 MPH, I have a video on my instagram page under username Jetcycles. I'll adjust my privacy settings for the next 48 hours to allow you guys a chance to see the few vids that I posted if you don't want to send a follow request. Be warned in advance, all vids are shot from the starting line using an IPhone so don't expect professional cinematography. I wonder if I can get them to show in the MH feed...I'll tag them now.

White car ran a 224.6 and the grey car laid down a 219.X. . .I'm not cool enough to know the differences in the lambo models or trim levels.

Just my opinion, but Ricky's truck has a lot left in it and wasn't even close to reaching full potential in the 1/2 mile. Small tires, big HP, light weight truck, and a non prepped track made traction an issue through the first 3 gears. I'm fairly certain he would have made 175+ MPH had he been able to hook up off the line. I'm also fairly certain the truck will break the 200MPH mark in the full mile. . .and i can't wait to be there to see it. All in all I was very impressed by Ricky and his truck!
