I wrecked my motorcycle. What do I do now?

Long story short, I wrecked my motorcycle. It won't start anymore and I saw fluid come out, I'm pretty sure it's gas.

Anyone have an estimate on how much it might cost to repair? The front end is all crooked.

Any recommended collision repair shops?

I'm almost assuming it's totaled. Anyone know where I can sell it to a junk yard? I don't know how to take it apart and sell it part by part so I'm looking to sell it as a whole.

Thanks!

Do you have insurance? Motorcycles Unlimited will give you and estimate either way. Patrick and the guys up there are very helpful and professional.

Assume that I don't or making a claim is not worth a premium increase for my other vehicles.

If you have full coverage than you would probably get more back from the insurance company than selling it to junk yard.

I would claim it through the insurance. But first I would find out how much it would cost to fix out of pocket. I know OEM parts for my bike are relatively cheap to replace, the labor is what gets you.

Basic coverage... So insurance is going to be completely worthless.

I'll put some pics up when I get a chance tonight.

Thanks, everyone.

Crooked front end and leaking fluids doesn't sound great, but post up.some pics, sometimes you can get bikes running perfect again for cheap if cosmetics aren't a main priority and then keep riding or at least sell as a working bike for.way more than junkyard prices.

So you want it fixed but dont want it fixed?
Post the pictures guy, then everyone can see what you've done.

Id suggest trailer the scrap metal to motorcycles unlimited (sponsor in this forum) and have patrick give you a run off of how much you're looking at and how soon.

This is the reason why I always and strongly suggest FULL COVERAGE. If you ain't got the money to pay full insurance, you shouldn't even have a bike.

is the motor locked up? frame bent? electrical system intact? tires? rims? forks? these are the basic components of the bike if one or more is destroyed you are looking at a costly and or labor intensive fix but we need more info

If you have a cheap bike why pay full coverage?

Not everybody wants or needs a 20,000+ motorcycle or may not want to run out to get a high end moto FINANCED.

That's like saying if you don't have the money to pay cash you shouldn't even have a bike.

Leaky gas - $900
Crooked front end - $750
No pics - Priceless

what??? if a bike is worth 5 grand and full coverage insurance is over $1000/year for around a 22yr old, why the will they get full coverage? liability and your own health insurance is all you need.

So the bike starts now but it doesn't sound right.

I'm in Cypress.

Pics are here.

I lived, helmet saved my life because I hit the back of my helmet on the corner of the curb. A few road rashes and a nasty elbow gash but that's it.

you could sell it on craigslist, might get 2k...put that to another bike or a car. If you close around barker cypress, I could come by and check it out for you
